For meritorious service to the Jerrabomberra Creek Rural Fire Brigade and the New South Wales Rural Fire Service Mr Wal Hick is nominated for Life Membership of the Jerrabomberra Creek Rural Fire Brigade.

Wal has undertaken significant operational deployments both locally and out of area assisting communities in need throughout the State as well as inter-state.

Wal has been available to assist in the Brigade’s operational deployments more than nearly anyone else in the Brigade and it is this commitment that has allowed the Brigade to have such a consistent involvement in operational deployments.

Wal has also contributed to the development of a strong Brigade culture setting a standard of commitment and behaviour that many Brigade members would like to meet.
